Fargo, N.D. – The North Dakota Republican Party announced today the opening of its Fargo Victory Center as part of a planned outreach across the state leading up to the 2012 elections. A grand opening ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 5 with Governor Jack Dalrymple, Congressman Rick Berg, and Public Service Commissioner Brian Kalk in attendance.

“Our new office in Fargo is where all the energy we’ve seen building during recent months will be put to work on critical Get-Out-the-Vote efforts. We will run every race our hardest and take nothing for granted,” said NDGOP Spokesman Matt Becker. “The Fargo Victory Center will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and powered by our hard-working volunteers from the Red River Valley.”

The office will be the first of several new NDGOP victory centers planned to open during the 2012 election cycle in addition to the party’s headquarters in Bismarck. The Cass County United Republican Committee (CCURC), which encompasses legislative districts 11, 13, 16, 21, 27, 41, 44, 45, and 46, will also assist in the operation of the Fargo Victory Center.

The center will also be equipped with the party’s first fully operational phone bank of the election cycle. The North Dakota Republican Party made nearly one million voter contacts using a similar system during 2010’s election.

Both the media and the public are welcome to attend the grand opening event. Food and drinks will be provided by the CCURC.

Friend,

It’s amazing to watch Heidi Heitkamp, Pam Gulleson, and other North Dakota Democrats try to run from their support President Obama and his failed policies.

Just four years ago, Heidi Heitkamp said in a video: “I think Barack Obama is going to be AMAZING, and I think we are on our way to a better United States in the next eight years.”

Now Heidi Heitkamp and her allies are scrambling to wipe that video from the internet forever. They’ve revealed a campaign strategy of “do and say anything to win” – even if it means rewriting history and being dishonest with North Dakota voters.

Unfortunately for Heidi, there’s one copy still left on the web for you to watch.

Whether it’s this latest attempt to ignore the facts or her routine of dodging questions on ObamaCare, Heidi Heitkamp has made it clear her number one goal is to fool North Dakota voters – and we’ve got to counter it. Will you donate $5, $25, or even $100 right now to make sure Heidi Heitkamp doesn’t get away with her whitewash of history?

Just hours ago the 5th most liberal U.S. Senator, California’s Barbara Boxer, blasted out a national email filled with false attacks to fill Heidi’s campaign coffers. President Obama and Barbara Boxer are determined to keep the U.S. Senate under the control of liberal Democrats – and they need Heidi to do it.

Your contribution of $5, $25, $100, or even $250 will help us make sure that doesn’t happen.

Heidi Heitkamp and Pam Gulleson won’t have much to say about President Obama on the campaign trail, but you and I will have a lot to say about how disastrous his policies have been. With your support, we’ll make sure they don’t get away with avoiding the facts.

North Dakota Republican Candidate Takes Second Step to Achieving ‘Young Gun’ Status

Washington — The National Republican Congressional Committee today announced Brian Kalk as an ‘On the Radar’ candidate, the important second step in the ‘Young Guns’ program. Founded during the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the ‘Young Guns’ program is a Member-driven effort that is the primary method for recruiting strong candidates for both open-seat and challenger races. Kalk is running for North Dakota’s Congressional seat.

“We are looking forward to working with Brian Kalk, who has already proven himself by meeting rigorous benchmarks in the ‘Young Guns’ program that will position his campaign for victory,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “Brian Kalk’s dedication and experience enables him to advocate effectively for pro-growth policies and fight the failed status quo in Washington. This will stand in stark contrast to the Obama-Pelosi record of spending, borrowing and taxing that North Dakota families and small businesses know has failed.”

The ‘Young Guns’ program encourages candidates who have proven their ability to meet crucial campaign benchmarks to develop their campaigns further in order to achieve victory on Election Day. In achieving ‘On the Radar’ status, Brian Kalk has met organizational and fundraising benchmarks and has already begun to establish himself as a strong contender. Kalk will now work toward even higher goals that will help him advance in the ‘Young Guns’ program and build an effective, winning campaign.

Brian Kalk’s background brings a wealth of knowledge and experience for North Dakota – he was raised in Bottineau, traveled the world as a U.S. Marine, returned to North Dakota to teach college and now serves North Dakota as a statewide elected official. He and his wife Karen have been married twenty years and have one daughter Jordee Sue.

North Dakota’s #1 ObamaCare supporter doesn’t appear often on the campaign trail. But today Heidi Heitkamp is holding town halls on short notice to distract from her support of this disastrous legislation.

Instead of talking about the $575 billion that ObamaCare cut from Medicare, or the tax hikes that came with it, Heidi chose to travel the state pointing the finger at Republicans on the U.S. House’s recent budget proposal.

Unlike ObamaCare, which raises $525 billion in taxes, cuts $575 billion from Medicare, adds billions to the deficit, and forces Medicare to go bankrupt by 2024 (according to President Obama’s own advisers), the House proposal takes measures to protect and save Medicare for future generations.

Heidi Heitkamp has decided to run away from her support of ObamaCare and engage in false negative attacks and partisan scare tactics. But North Dakotans haven’t forgotten her support of ObamaCare.

Below we’ve compiled the “Top 10″ questions to ask Heidi Heitkamp while she’s out running from ObamaCare.

Top Ten Questions for Heidi Heitkamp

1. Why did you campaign across the state for ObamaCare and call it a “legacy vote,” even though 70 percent of North Dakotans did not support it?

2. Do you support the $575 billion in cuts to Medicare included in ObamaCare?

3. The updated ten year cost of Obamacare, per the CBO, is $1.76 trillion.

Do you support this amount of ever-increasing spending?

4. Do you support the $525 billion in tax raises in ObamaCare?

5. Do you support the $20 billion tax on medical device manufacturers included in ObamaCare?

6. Do you support the $13 billion tax on flex spending accounts included in ObamaCare?

7. Do you support the $4.5 billion tax on retiree’s prescription drug plans included in ObamaCare?

8. Do you support the $60 billion tax on health insurance providers included in ObamaCare?

9. At a pro-Obamacare rally in 2010, you stated that the people of North Dakota needed “to continue your efforts. You need to continue to believe that our citizens, the people of North Dakota, will agree with us in majority if we just get them the message.”

With all the ways ObamaCare has failed – contributing to the national debt, cutting $575 billion from Medicare, increasing the cost of care and more, will you continue to campaign on getting North Dakotans “the message” about ObamaCare? If so, what will that message be?

10. As a former Attorney General, do you think ObamaCare should be upheld or struck down by the United States Supreme Court?

Bismarck, ND – The North Dakota Republican Party announced today it is seeking interns for the 2012 campaign season. The NDGOP Internship Program will operate for both summer and fall sessions, providing high school and college students with a fast-paced learning environment and an up-close view of political operations.

“An internship at the North Dakota Republican Party offers experiential learning in an election year that could not be more exciting or important,” said NDGOP Spokesman Matt Becker. “We are seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic college students who wish to gain valuable campaign and political experience. This is the first time in many years that the state party has offered a program like this, and it’s a great way for any student to explore a career in North Dakota politics.”

Interns will be involved in daily operations at the state party in a variety of capacities including Get-out-the Vote (GOTV), event planning, finance, research, and communications.

Interested students can obtain an application at www.ndgop.org/intern. The deadline for the summer program is April 25.
